Hey there!
You’re reading The Reset — a space for becoming happier, healthier, and wealthier from the inside out.
Each issue offers a gentle shift in how you live, work, and move through the world — with intention, clarity, and ease.
This is your invitation to do life differently. Let’s begin.
You've seen them everywhere. Beautiful collages of dream homes, peaceful mornings, open fields, overflowing abundance. There are women who swear their vision boards changed their lives AND there are women who made one and are still … waiting for something … ANYTHING to happen.
If you're in the second group, this post is for you.
Because vision boards are not just a cute craft project. They are a legitimate tool for reprogramming your mind — and when they're built and used the right way, they are one of the most powerful things you can do for the life you're trying to create.
And if you want more tools like this in your life every Sunday, The Reset is the place to be — it's here for you and always worth it.
The Real Science Behind Why Vision Boards Work
Let's start with your brain — specifically, a part of it called the RAS or formally known as the Reticular Activating System.

Your RAS is like a filter. Right now, your brain is being hit with millions of pieces of information — sounds, sights, sensations, thoughts — every single second. If you were conscious of all of it at once, you'd be completely overwhelmed. So your RAS filters out most of it and only lets through the information it believes is relevant and important to you.
Here's the key: you train your RAS by whatever you focus on consistently because then your brain starts to see these details as important — and it begins pointing out that thing everywhere, pulling it from the background noise of your life and bringing it to the front.
This is why when you decide you want a certain kind of car, you suddenly see that car everywhere. It was always there. You just weren't looking for it. Your RAS had no reason to filter it in — until you told it to.
A vision board is a daily, visual, intentional way to train your brain to look for the life you want. Every time you look at it, you are sending your brain a message: THIS is what's important to me. THIS is what's real for me. Look for THIS. Find the paths to THIS.
And your brain, being the remarkable pattern-recognition machine it is, begins to do exactly that.
✦ THE SCIENCE IN SIMPLE TERMS
What you look at daily, your brain starts to work toward — even without you consciously trying. Your vision board is training your mind to find the path to your dreams.
3 Reasons Why Most Vision Boards Don't Work
Now that you understand the science, it becomes clear why some vision boards create results and others collect dust.
They're built on someone else's dream
If your vision board is full of images you chose because they look aspirational — because you saw them on Pinterest and they seemed like the right things to want — your brain will not respond to them with the same power as images of things you genuinely, deeply desire.
Your brain is activated by emotional resonance, not aesthetic appeal. Every image on your board should make you feel something real when you look at it. If it doesn't, replace it.
They're put away and forgotten
A vision board that lives in a closet is just a collage. For it to work, you need to see it every single day — ideally multiple times a day. Put it somewhere you cannot ignore: above your desk, on your bathroom mirror, as your phone wallpaper. Your brain needs daily repetition to form new neural pathways. Out of sight truly is out of mind.
They don't include how it feels, only how it looks
This is the biggest mistake. Images are powerful — but emotion is what activates your manifestation. When you look at your vision board, the goal is not just to see the images. It is to feel what it would feel like to already have what's on it. The calm of that peaceful morning. The confidence of that version of you. The ease of that abundant life.
Your feelings are the language the universe responds to most powerfully.

How to Build a Vision Board That Actually Works in 5 Steps
Now let's build your next vision board, so that you get results. This process takes more intention than cutting out pretty pictures — and it is so much more powerful because of it.
Step 1: Get clear on your categories
Before you touch a single image, spend time getting clear on what areas of life you are intentionally building. For your soft life, these might include your finances and abundance, your home and environment, your daily rituals and routines, your health and how your body feels, your relationships, your work and creative expression, and your spiritual life. Write out what you want in each area in your own words first. This is the foundation your board is built on.
THE VISION BOARD PREP SYSTEM
Before you touch a single image, you need to know exactly what you’re building.
The Vision Board Prep System is a Notion template that walks you through all 7 soft life categories — so your board is built on a foundation that’s actually yours, not someone else’s version of the dream.
Know exactly what you’re building — in 7 areas — before you waste another Saturday cutting pictures.
Step 2: Choose images by feeling, not by aesthetics
When you look at an image, ask yourself: does this make me feel something? Does it spark desire, excitement, peace, or longing? If yes, it belongs on your board. If it just looks nice but doesn't move you, leave it behind. Your board should make your heart do something when you look at it.
Step 3: Include words and affirmations
Images speak to the visual brain, but words speak to the deeper mind. Add words and short phrases that reinforce the beliefs behind the images. Not just "luxury home" but "I live in a space that feels like peace." Not just "abundance" but "money flows to me freely and consistently." The words train your self-concept — how you see yourself — which is ultimately what creates the results.
Step 4: Place it somewhere you will see it every single day
This is non-negotiable. Your vision board only works if your eyes land on it daily. Bedroom wall. Bathroom mirror. Framed on your desk. Or a digital version as your phone lock screen and computer wallpaper. The more you see it, the more your brain is being trained. Daily visibility is the single most important thing you can do after creating it.
Step 5: Spend 2 to 5 minutes with it intentionally each morning
Don't just glance at it — sit with it. Look at each image and let yourself feel into it. Imagine yourself already there. Let the emotion rise. This is not wishful thinking. This is you actively engaging your brain's most powerful manifestation mechanism. The Seven Day Soft Life Side Quest ($7.77) includes a simple morning ritual practice that pairs beautifully with this.
✦ Affirmation: "Everything on my vision board is mine. I closed the distance between where I am & where I am going."
Let’s Be Besties!
You've been doing the work — the affirmations, the vision boards, the subliminals, the journaling. And something in you knows the next level requires more than tools.
It requires timing.
And Besties of The Reset is the premium membership that gives you both.
What to Do When Your Vision Evolves
One more thing that nobody talks about: your vision board is allowed to change.
As you grow, as you heal, as you build your soft life piece by piece, what you want will evolve. Something that felt like a dream two years ago might feel hollow now. Something you didn't even know you wanted might suddenly feel like the most true thing you've ever seen.
That evolution is not inconsistency. That is growth. Update your board when elements no longer feel alive. Add new images as new desires emerge. Let it be a living document of the woman you are becoming — not a snapshot of the woman you were when you first started dreaming.
The vision board is a tool. The real power is in you. It simply gives your mind a target — and your mind, once it has a target, is unstoppable.
You are not making a collage. You are giving your brain a blueprint. And your brain will spend every day of your life building it.
